Child and Adolescent Mental Health Rajanagarindra Institute is the government organization supported by the Department of Mental Health under the Ministry of Public Health. It was established as the Institute of Child and Adolescent Mental Health on August 29, 2001. In 2003
Service : Types of Services

          One of our main missions is  to provide and to improve  holistic services  in tertiary level of  mental health and psychiatry, regarding in children and adolescents with professional standards. The key goals of services are to improve mental health and quality of lives of Thai children, adolescents and their families to be better living their lives with happily in society. 

Types of Services 

           The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Rajanagarindra Institute is a specialized clinic regarding the mental health and psychiatry of children, adolescents and their  families :
            • To  provide  services  of  assessment,  diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents under age 20 and their families, during weekdays between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and also from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM every Tuesday and Wednesday, except for official and religious holidays.
            • To provide  basic  emergency  psychiatric  services  before transferring to an appropriate center for further service.
            • Model of  Intensive care program for adolescent patients having complicated  problems. 

            • Having no inpatients.

Outpatient department services


       Outpatient department services  are  provided of assessment,  diagnosis and treatment of mental health include behavioral or emotional problems and psychiatric problems in children and adolescents as well as family problems by a specialized medical team consisting of child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical  psychologists, psychiatric nurses,  psychiatric  social-workers, occupational therapists, special educationists and paramedical personnel as related. Services during weekdays between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and also from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM every Tuesday and Wednesday, except for official and religious holidays.  Mental health and Psychiatric problems in children  and  adolescents services are divided in : 

         - Problems of delayed development, such as delayed of gross and fine motor, delayed of  speech, delayed of self- help and social skills  etc. 
         - Problems with Learning Disability in reading, writing or mathemetic.
         - Child Psychiatry  disease  such  as  ADHD, Autism  etc.
         - Mood-related problems, such as anxiety, depression etc.
         - Behavioral problems, such as aggression, lying, school refusal etc.
         - Problems of game and gambling addiction.
         - Other problems such as Hair pulling, Bed-wetting, Tics, Sibling rivalry  etc.
 

Special Clinic services

               Special Clinic services includes Teen clinic  services and the game clinic, for individuals, groups, or camps, Developmental Stimulation clinic,Family Clinic. This is a specialized service to address the problems of children.
 
     - Teen clinic 
                     Teen clinic  services  is a specialized clinic regarding the mental health and psychiatry of adolescents and their  families, which  aimed to increase the number of  adolescent patients receiving proper services.  This clinic provides quality services suitable for the adolescents need, Teen clinic  services  provide of assessment,  diagnosis and treatment of mental health include behavioral or emotional problems and psychiatric problems in adolescents as well as family problems by a specialized medical team consisting of child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical  psychologist, psychiatric  nurse,  psychiatric  social-worker  and paramedical personnel as related. Services during weekdays between 8:30 AM to 12:00 AM, except for official and religious holidays.  Mental health and Psychiatric problems in adolescents services are divided in :
            - Mood-related problems, such as anxiety, depression etc.
            - Behavioral problems, such as aggression, lying, school refusal etc.
            - Problems of game and gambling addiction.
            - Social problems 
            - Family problems.
 
            3 core programs of services set in Teen clinic  :
            1. MusicTherapy Program
                Music plays an important part in assisting the adolescent patients  to convey their feelings  relaxing along with the rhythm and melody of songs. This brings about relaxation and better emotion. Thus, music facilitates the emotional development, behaviors, intellectual  and communication skills. 
            2. Art Therapy Program
               The Art Therapy Program is set as activity  group  for  the adolescent patients. Art plays an important part in assisting the adolescent patients  to convey their feelings  relaxing  and create  positive feeling.  doing art  with creative and imagination make them change to positive  behavior. This brings about relaxation and better emotion. Thus,  doing successful things raised  more self-esteem  and emotional development, behaviors development and intellectual development. 
            3. Game addict clinic.
               Game addict clinic  plays an important part in assisting the adolescent patients  to control
and manage themselves  to positive  behaviors.  Thus, it facilitates the emotional development, behavior  and communication skills. The game clinic set for individuals, groups, or camps, specialized  to address the problems of children.
                  Also adolescent patients and their families received counseling service  by psychiatric nurses specialized in adolescent mental health.

 
      - Developmental Stimulation Clinic
           Developmental stimulation clinic is a specialized clinic, which objectives are to promote children in various aspects of physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development and to prepare children before entering in nursery and elementary school. This is a specialized service to address the problems of children. Services in Developmental Stimulation clinic  provided  of assessment  and  treatment care plan for  individual  by a specialized medical team consisting of  psychiatric  nurse  and paramedical personnel as related. Services during weekdays between 8:30 AM to 12:00 AM, except for official and religious holidays.  Services are divided in :
            - Problems of delayed development, such as delayed of gross and fine motor, delayed of speech, delayed of self- help and social skills  etc. 
            - Problems with Learning Disability,  ADHD, Autism  etc.
              In order to prevent problems and promote  good mental health of parents and guardians of the children, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Rajanagarindra Institute organizes  training programs to provide knowledge and understanding about children’s development, child-rearing  skills  and appropriate in solving children’s problems such as behavior modification, communication skills  etc.  One of the training programs is Psycho -education for ADHD parents and guardians to provide knowledge and understanding about ADHD disease, children’s development, discipline and behavior problem solving, social skills and  communication skills.  All of the services unit is also a place for studies, research, and learning about the development of normal children, the observation and the assessment  of children and adolescence’s  behavior, the diagnosis and treatment  of children and adolescence patient also. The services of its kind is used as an example for other agencies in Thailand, such as the Community development department and the Department of health, who send their staffs  for training and studying  techniques in order to apply useful for  their own agencies. This includes practical training for students from various universities in the fields of medicine, psychiatric nursing, psychology, social welfare, and special education. 

      -  Family Clinic
                   Family  clinic is a specialized clinic, which aimed to help the family of the mental health and psychiatry of children and adolescents, solving their family problems by providing knowledge understanding  about lifestyles in the family and individuals, family  functioning,  and provide  skills for  parents and guardians how to raise and train the children and adolescents in appropriate ways for their ages, and how to resolve issues over which the family has internal disagreement.  The objectives of the clinic are to prevent  family problems in appropriate  solving children’s problems such as behavior solving problem, communication skills  and to  promote  child-rearing  skills  for  parents and guardians of the children and adolescents.  Services in Family  clinic  provided  of  family assessment  and  family therapy  by a specialized medical team consisting of  clinical  psychologist, psychiatric  nurse,  psychiatric  social-worker  and paramedical personnel as related. Services during weekdays between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and also from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM every Tuesday and Wednesday, except for official and religious holidays.  
 
      - Hotline 1323, counseling telephone service : a proactive service.
                  The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Rajanagarindra Institute  provide a 24-hour counseling telephone service  through the Department of Mental Health’s hotline number 1323. which aimed to help people who have the mental health and psychiatry problems change to positive feeling, positive thinking and fulfill their yearning. Hotline 1323, counseling telephone service  by a specialized medical team consisting of  clinical  psychologist, psychiatric  nurse,  psychiatric  social-worker  and paramedical personnel as related. Services  24-hour a day, not except for official and religious holidays.  Hotline 1323, counseling telephone service  provided  of  assessment  and  counseling  people in need to solve  their problems by providing knowledge, understanding and skills how to resolve issues over which they have internal disagreement and also how to raise positive feeling, positive thinking and fulfill  yearning in appropriate ways.
